2012 Hayden Cog Run

This is one of the longest consecutively run races of the series and the state of Colorado! A Routt County Classic held in the small town of Hayden Colorado 25 minutes west of Steamboat.

Distances: 8.4 mile and 5K paved roads.

Race Date/Time: Saturday, May 19th, 2012. Races start at 10:00 am

Location: All runners assemble at the Hayden Town Park on S 3rd Street

Registration: Pre-register online, at the Town Hall in Hayden, or Ski Haus in Steamboat Springs.  On-site registration will be available between 9:00 and 9:30am on race day.  Register early to ensure an entry gift and please remember that post race food is for runners and volunteers only.

What you receive: Entry gift, great food from Backcountry Provisions, prizes for winners and a raffle.

Awards & Prizes: The top three male & female winners in each race will receive an award. A drawing for merchandise and gift certificates will be held following the race. All entrants are eligible and must be present to win.

Course Description(s):
The Cog Run is a challenging 8.4 mile out and back course on Routt County Road #76. This race has approximately 3 miles of steep uphill/downhill slope with the turn around point at the top of the Hayden Cog. Race offers spectacular views of the Yampa Valley.

5k run is out and back with rolling hills south of Hayden on County Road #53.

Aid Stations: Two water and first aid stations are provided for each of the three races. Two restrooms provided for the Hayden Cog Run and one for the 5k race.

Pets: Not advisable for the Hayden Cog Run, considered for 5k
