2017 Emerald Mountain Trail Run
What: 12K (race is actually about 7.75 miles long) Scenic trail run on beautiful Emerald Mountain. The course for the Emerald Mountain trail run will be a tour of Emerald Mountain starting at the base of Howelsen Hill. The course will meander northwest then through aspen lined single track up to the top of Emerald Mountain. The course will then follow single track downhill and cross country to the base of Howelsen Hill. We also have a 5K trail run that follows a similar but shorter course as the 12K, a 12K hike and a 1M kids fun run.
This race is organized by The Emerald Mountain School and benefits scholarship programs for the school.
When: Saturday, September 23rd, 2017
Race Distance: 4 different events - 12K (Approximately 7.75 miles) trail run, 12K hike, 5K trail run, 1M kids fun run.
Elevation gain: ~ 1500 ft. with most of the gain coming in the first 1.5M of the 12K.
Where: UPDATE!!! Race will start behind Olympian Hall by the bleachers. Registretion will be upstairs in Olympian Hall (just next to the old dtsarating area of the Igloo)
Registration: Pre-register online until 8pm on Thursday September 21st. Day of registration from 7:30 - 8:15 am. Register early to ensure an entry gift. Bib pickup is the day of the race and at Twisted Trails from 4-6 pm on Friday, you can also register if we have spots open at packet pick up . Kids 17 and under pay their age when they pre-register!!

What you receive: Entry gift, delicious food, prizes for winners and raffle entry for all entrants. Please register early for this event. End of season party to follow.
*Start time: 8:00 am for untimed Walk/Hike, 9:00 am for the 12K and 5K Run and 9:10 for kid's fun run
Additional information: Runners please be respectful of passing hikers on the trail and hikers please pull to the side to allow runners to pass. If wearing headphones please have volume low enough so that you are aware of your surroundings and can hear someone trying to pass you on the tight single track sections. Awards and raffle will start no later than 10:30 am.
Approximate Course: Start behind Olympian Hall, up Robbie's to Mile Run to Blackmere. Up to Larry's via Blackmere, take Larry's up and over through the meadow and head across and pop out on Blackmere again for a short time. Run up Blackmere to the Quarry and down Lil Moab to Lupine. Lupine to the Bluff's and take a big loop on the Bluffs down to the start.
This race will serve as the end of the pointed season where series winners will be announced, please be present to pick up awards.
