
Howelsen Hill Trail Run
Let the trail races begin!! This is a challenging trail run on the scenic single track trails of historic Howelsen Hill, Steamboat’s outdoor playground. The trails of Emerald are beautiful this time of year with abundant aspen trees and wildflowers.

Registration opens January 1st, 2023
Register online here or on-site. Online registration will close at 6 p.m. Friday, June 16th. On-site registration will be available from 7:30 to 8:15 at the start line. You can also register at Ski Haus at 1457 Pine Grove Road on Friday, June 16th from 4-6 pm.
Registration Fees:
- 4 mile: $25* until May 17th; $30* through June 16th; $35* on race day
- 8 mile: $40* until May 17th; $45* through June 16th; $50* on race day
- Please note that prices will increase by $10 for race day registrations and all packet pickup registrations. Register online to save.
Racers 17 & under: $15* through June 16th; $20 on race day*
*Does not include RunSignup fees
T-Shirt: $15 – Register by 8 pm Thursday, June 8th to guarantee a shirt.
No Refunds. Proceeds from this race will be donated to Knights of Columbus.
Packet Pick-Up:
Ski Haus at 1457 Pine Grove Road on Friday, June 16th from 4-6 pm as well as from 7:30-8:15 at the start line.

Course Description:
Beginning at Olympian Hall the run will take you throughout the Howelsen Hill trail network of new and established trails. This race is a beautiful loop on Emerald mountain starting on the Bluff’s trail, heading uphill on Lupine trail and finishing downhill via MGM and the Meadow trail to the base of the historic Howelsen Hill Ski Area. All running will be on trails and the course will be well marked with one main aid station at the top of the climb. To help reduce cup waste, we highly recommend carrying your own hydration bottle or pack, thank you!
Awards and Post Race:
Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place males and females (No AG awards)
Every participant is automatically entered in our prize raffle, which will follow the awards ceremony. Stick around and enjoy brunch provided by Winona’s!
